McConnell Welcomes Tipton
Third District Race pits "Renegade" against state politician.

Retired Colonel Army Ranger Bob McConnell has issued a statement regarding Scott Tipton's second attempt at challenging the incumbent John Salazar for his congressional seat: "Welcome, Scott. Come join me in the race. Since I've never run for political office I consider myself a candidate of the people and they will decide what kind of representative they want in Washington."
McConnell announced his candidacy in mid-September and considers himself a unique "renegade" with a background in law, ranching, the environment, outfitting, and mountaineering. He has been traveling the vast Third District, "garnering support at a grassroots level."
"The people of this District are ready to retire John Salazar and they want a candidate who can do that. The Republicans need to field a man with proven leadership. I have led men in battle and on Everest expeditions and I know I can lead in Congress. I want this job, but not for long. I will push relentlessly for term limits in Congress so we oust career politicians." For more information go to McConnell For Congress.

Tired of unresponsive "representatives" who do as they're told?

Governance is too important to leave in the hands of politicians. We need to hold our representatives feet to the fire. We must watch every bill, demand that they read it fully and listen to us. We must be relentless in our civic duty because we have been asleep too long.

I'm a conservative Republican who ran for Congress in Colorado's Third Congressional District in 2010. Though I lost the primary I gained an amazing insight into how politics works, and I met hundreds of wonderful, concerned citizens. Let's stay engaged in the mission.
