Long Standing Colorado Reagan Republican Supports Bob McConnell for Congress

Dear Friends:

I am proud to add Freda Poundstone to the group that supports my uncompromising conservative values. Freda has been a force in Colorado and national Republican politics since 1966. When Freda supports someone, that person has the weight of the Reagan conservative era right behind him. Here is Freda's letter to Delegates to the District Assembly.

Keep the faith,
Bob McConnell

Dear Delegates and Alternates:

My name is Freda Poundstone. I am a conservative Republican who has worked since 1966 for Republican candidates. I served for President Ronald Reagan after being a national delegate in 1976, 1980, and 1984. I was the head of his Colorado Transition Team and was one of seventeen people selected nationwide to be on his advisory Citizen Kitchen Cabinet Committee.

Congress Tom Tancredo called me "The Colorado connection to the White House for conservative appointments." We got all of those appointments.

I represented the President at Anzio Beach Head in Italy, and gave his 1982 memorial address, and laid the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. I flew with President Reagan in 1984 to Normandy where he laid the wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

I write this letter to tell you that we can win Congressional District 3 this election with the right candidate. John Salazar is very vulnerable, especially against a man with Bob McConnell's credentials.

Bob McConnell is a retired Colonel, Army Ranger, who served his country in combat against our enemies in Vietnam. Bob McConnell is not only a hero in my eyes, but a man of courage, conviction, and is completely committed to his country.

Bob McConnell will be a Congressman who will not go along with the program just to get along with his peers. Bob McConnell will be a Congressman who won't vote to outsource our jobs (what's left of them). Bob McConnell will be a Congressman who promotes tax breaks to those who create jobs. Bob McConnell will be a leader in organizing others to fight as he did when he was in combat - with courage, conviction, and a moral compass. With such leadership, we have a chance at restoring our Congress back to its founding principles. I believe Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid won't know how to handle a Congressman who is not of the "establishment" or from the "good old boys' club."

We have a chance to send a leader, a fighter, a man without fear to Washington. Electing Bob McConnell to Congress will send a major message to Washington that this is the government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

We lost this race four years ago by 62% under Scott Tipton's candidacy. Do we really want the same scenario? I don't think so. People want restoration of our founding principles; people want representatives who will honor their oath. People want representatives who will enforce our existing laws and honor the Constitution, which so many have given their lives to protect. Let us give this to the people; let's give them Bob McConnell.

This election, let's put a "Tiger in our Tank." Let's elect a candidate for the people of the Third District. Let's elect a candidate who is untainted by the current administration.

Elect Bob McConnell our next Congressman and together, the people win.

Warmest Regards,
Freda Poundstone

Tired of unresponsive "representatives" who do as they're told?

Governance is too important to leave in the hands of politicians. We need to hold our representatives feet to the fire. We must watch every bill, demand that they read it fully and listen to us. We must be relentless in our civic duty because we have been asleep too long.

I'm a conservative Republican who ran for Congress in Colorado's Third Congressional District in 2010. Though I lost the primary I gained an amazing insight into how politics works, and I met hundreds of wonderful, concerned citizens. Let's stay engaged in the mission. Write to me at beawatchman@aol.com, and keep the faith.
