McConnell and Tipton to Engage in Forum
3rd Congressional District Candidates to Field Questions on March 4th in Grand Junction
Colonel Bob McConnell (Ret.) will meet state representative Scott Tipton for a Candidate Forum sponsored by the Western Slope Conservative Alliance at 6:30 pm at Grand Junction City Hall. The forum is open to the public.

"I'm glad people have the opportunity to see the differences between me and Scott in a job interview," McConnell said. "I hope the questions are tough and the audience won't let us off the hook."

McConnell was the first candidate in the Third Congressional District race to sign the Taxpayer Protection Pledge. He is running a popular grassroots campaign based on the principles of limited government, free market economy, lower taxes, and protecting individual rights while growing States' rights. He has already received endorsements from the Southern Colorado Tea Party and the Grand Junction Results.

"No politics in my background," McConnell stated, "So it should be an interesting contrast. Lots of leadership experience. No politics."

The forum will feature questions that neither candidate will have access to prior to that evening. The event will be taped and aired on the local PBS station.

Contact the Western Slope Conservative Alliance for information about the forum. Bob McConnell can be reached by e-mail or by calling 970-846-4907.

Tired of unresponsive "representatives" who do as they're told?

Governance is too important to leave in the hands of politicians. We need to hold our representatives feet to the fire. We must watch every bill, demand that they read it fully and listen to us. We must be relentless in our civic duty because we have been asleep too long.

I'm a conservative Republican who ran for Congress in Colorado's Third Congressional District in 2010. Though I lost the primary I gained an amazing insight into how politics works, and I met hundreds of wonderful, concerned citizens. Let's stay engaged in the mission. Write to me at beawatchman@aol.com, and keep the faith.
